Friends Group

Our weekly heart — where youth on the autism spectrum learn the social side of life through play, interaction, and real friendship.

What it is

Social learning, the fun way.

Friends Group is a weekly gathering where children ages 6–16 practice the everyday social skills that don't always come naturally — making friends, joining in, taking care of themselves, cooking together, and sharing a meal at the table.

No clipboards, no pressure. Just guided play and genuine interaction, with a thoughtful curriculum running underneath it all.

The group is led by a licensed specialist who guides a caring team through every session — so your child is supported by people who truly understand how they learn.

What they'll practice

Everyday skills for everyday life.

Making friends

Starting conversations, joining a game, and building the kind of friendships that last beyond the group.

Socializing with confidence

Reading social cues, taking turns, and feeling comfortable being part of the group.

Self-care & independence

Daily living skills that build confidence — the small wins that add up to big independence.

Cooking together

Measuring, mixing, and making something delicious side by side — teamwork you can taste.

Sharing meals at the table

Table manners, conversation, and the simple joy of eating together like family.

Learning through play

Games and activities designed so social growth feels like the best part of the week.

"Every child deserves to learn, even if those skills don't come naturally."— LaWanda, Founder
